April 5, 2008 at Minneapolis Raceway: Matthew's first race in the Hobby Stock Division of IMCA. Before the race started, Matthew was interviewed for the local radio station. The interview was over three minutes and was played on the radio about 5:40 PM as well as broadcast in the stands at the track. Here are a few details about the interview.

October, 2008: IMCA Announces Final Points Standings.
Matthew Crowell is the Northern Region Rookie of the Year in the Hobby Stocks Division!
He finishes 4th in National Rookie Points and in the State of Kansas, he is 2nd in overall points.

October 10-11: RPM Speedway in Hays
Not a point show. Matthew finishes 8th Friday and didn't make it to the A on Sat. B-Feature finish was 9th and only top 8 moved to A. Oh so close!

October 3: 81 Speedway
Jacob makes a last lap pass to take 3rd place!

September 28: 81 Speedway
Jacob finishes 2nd in his heat race and 4th in his feature!

September 21: Minneapolis Raceway
Matthew finishes 4th

September 20: Minneapolis Raceway
Matthew finishes 4th

September 14: Minneapolis Raceway
Matthew finishes 8th

September 13: RPM Speedway in Hays
Matthew takes a 6th place finish with no brakes!

August 31: Thomas County Speedway in Colby
5th place in feature missing 4th by a nose. Great finish considering he had to start at the back of the pack.

August 30: Sherman County Speedway in Goodland
2nd in the feature. Looked like he might make it two in a row for wins. Won the heat race and was in position to win feature if first place car had just made a mistake!

August 29: RPM Speedway in Hays
FIRST PLACE! First A-Feature Win.

August 24: WaKeeney Raceway
10th place finish.

August 23: Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton
6th place finish.

August 16: Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton
5th place finish.

August 15: RPM Speedway in Hays
Matthew is in 2nd place with 3 laps to go and tire blows. Finishes 9th.

August 14: Stockton
Matthew leads the race when tire blows. He battles back for 6th place!

August13: Stockton
Matthew was in third when tire blew. Finished 13th.

August 9: Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton
Matthew leads half the feature before the ball joint breaks taking him out. 13th place in feature.

August 5: 81 Speedway in Park City
Jacob races, finally, after over a month without a race. And, what a night! Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace are racing their modifieds the same night!

August 3: WaKeeney Raceway
12th place in feature after a broke axle stops his chances at the 3rd place position he had held for most of the arce

August 1: Thomas County Speedway in Colby
3rd place in feature.

July 27: Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton: Bud Shootout
4th in heat race; drew 9th in Shootout; 13th in feature after taken out by another driver's spin.

July 26: Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton
6th in the feature.

July 25: RPM Speedway in Hays
5th in the feature.

July 24: Osborne Speedway
13th in the feature.

July 21: WaKeeney Raceway
6th in the feature.

July 20: Thomas County Speedway in Colby
7th in the feature.

July 19: Sherman County Speedway in Goodland
4th in the feature.

July 14: Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin
Matthew gets 4th in the feature. First time racing on this track.

July 12: Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton
Matthew gets 4th in the feature. He leads half the race!

July 4: RPM Speedway in Hays
Matthew gets 5th in the heat and wrecked in feature breaking the A-arm.

July 3: 81 Speedway in Park City
Jacob takes 3rd place in his feature. Signs over 30 autographs after the race.

June 29: WaKeeney Raceway
9th in the feature.

June 28: Minneapolis Raceway
6th place in heat race; DNF in B-main.

June 26: 81 Speedway in Park City
Jacob takes 3rd place in his two features in one night.

June 21: Minneapolis Raceway
Matthew finishes 6th in heat race (one cylinder down), 3rd in B-Feature, and 16th in A-Feature with bent frame, busted linkage and blown tire on last lap!

June 19: 81 Speedway in Park City
Jacob takes 3rd place in his feature. All his other races in June have been rained out.

June 15: Thomas County Speedway in Colby
First time on this track, Matthew finishes 4th in his heat race and 7th in the feature. NASCAR champion Randy LaJoie stopped by to check out the seat he built for Matthew and took the time to sign it.

June 14: Minneapolis Raceway
Matthew finishes 8th in heat and 6th in B-Feature. This was the night to question whether it was dirt track racing or mud track racing!

June 8: WaKeeney Raceway
Matthew finishes 3rd in heat race and 10th in feature after major rework from two wrecks. More details in our June blog along with a list of thank-you's to friends in the pit!

June 7: Minneapolis Raceway
Matthew finishes 5th in the heat and 14th in the B-Feature.

June 6: RPM Speedway in Hays
Matthew finishes 2nd in the heat race and 5th in the feature.

May 30: Elmwood Park Speedway in Norton
Matthew finishes 8th in feature. First time racing this half mile track.

May 30: RPM Speedway in Hays
Matthew finishes 11th in feature.

May 29: 81 Speedway in Park City
Jacob finished 4th in his feature. In only his third time racing the Hornet, you could see a definite improvement.

May 24: Minneapolis Raceway
Heat Race: 6th place
B Feature: 12th place

May 17: Minneapolis Raceway
Heat Race: 4th place which got him a transfer to the A-Main due to car count being so large!
A Feature: 13th place

May 15: 81 Speedway in Park City
Jacob runs his second race in the Youth Hornet and gets 5th place.

May 9: RPM Raceway in Hays
Heat Race: 3rd place.
A Feature: 8th place.

May 4: WaKeeney Raceway
Heat Race: 5th place.
A Feature: 11th place finish. (Had a top 10 going strong when the fuel line clogged up.)

May 3: Minneapolis Raceway.
Heat Race: 5th place.
B Feature: 1st place. [First IMCA Trophy and Picture in Victory Lane!]
A Feature: DNF with broken fuel line

May 1: 81 Speedway in Park City
Jacob runs his first race in the Youth Hornet. Places 4th in Feature!

April 19: Minneapolis Raceway
Heat Race: 5th place.
B Feature: Blown tire caused crash on 3rd turn of first lap. DNF.

April 5: Minneapolis Raceway
Matthew's first race in the Hobby Stock Division of IMCA.
Heat Race: 8th place. Matthew was in third place with just two laps to go! Another car came up the track and got in to him. Matthew would likely have gotten his spot back, but he misunderstood the sign and thought he was pointed to leave the track.

A Feature Race: 11th place out of 26 cars! Matthew did a fantastic job staying out of trouble and avoiding the "big one." For his first time in the Hobby Stock and first time racing at this track, we could not be happier with the results!
