 and their garden... |
I think maybe their daughter has been by today and worked on the garden |
A small rainbow over Greensburg |
And the storms seem to continue to build up. Won't that make all those farmers happy! |
In Mullinville, the wind picks up and so do the dirt devils |
See the storm clouds coming... |
But they just keep playing! |
Kim thinks she sees rotation in the clouds... |
and they finally pull them from the field as it starts to rain; notice to the South is looks fine... |
One inning in; we had checked the radar at the house, so we knew this was going to happen |
The girls pile in ... |
 as it pours outside. |
And it starts to HAIL! We didn't know that was going to happen! |
We return from Kinsley and Larnad for more parts. |
 Kim feeds the calves. |
She gives me a tour of the cracks... |
Every single wall has a crack. |
Even the engineer was impressed with some. |
Right after the tornado, there were no cracks... |
Apparently, it could take 2 or 3 years for it to settle... |
Which means it is best just to gut it and put up sheetrock... |
There is not a single wall that doesn't have a crack... |
and she finds new ones all the time. |
And dirt coming in, probably from when the house was originally built or from the dust bowl of the dirty 30's. |
Damage is a huge hidden tornado cost... |
especially since originally, the insurance agent said $700 for this repair...HA! |
That was before it showed up. |
All angles of cracks and all sizes... |
They need a FEMA Trailor to live in while they cut this house, but they don't qualify because they have insurance. |
But, it is obvious that between having to fix the foundation of the house by gutting the basement as well as every wall, this will be a longer recovery than just being able to rebuild. |
Kim shows me the time capsule found at the school. It will be opened at the July 4 celebration so the whole community can participate. |
